The basics

What is Skin Memory?

A mobile app that keeps a record of your skincare: what you use, what you change, and what you notice, in order. It is a memory, not a clinician. How it works

Is Skin Memory a skincare tracking app?

Yes, in the sense that it keeps a dated record of the products you use, the changes you make and what you notice. It is a memory, not a diagnosis or a recommendation tool. How it works

Is Skin Memory a skincare journal or diary?

It works like one, with more structure. Instead of free-form notes, products, changes and observations are kept as separate dated entries, so you can see the sequence.

Who is Skin Memory for?

People who try things and change their routines, and later can't say what they were using when their skin changed. If you have ever thought “I know I've tried this before, but when?”, it is for you.

How is it different from a notes app?

A notes app holds whatever you type. Skin Memory keeps products, changes and observations as separate, dated things, so it can show you what was active on any date and tell you when changes overlap. Features

Do I need to log every day?

No. Log when something changes, or when you notice something. Gaps are normal, and “nothing to report” is a perfectly good entry.

What if I forget to log something?

Add it later and mark it as recorded late. The record keeps both dates, the day it happened and the day you wrote it down.

What it does not do

Is Skin Memory an AI dermatologist?

No. It does not assess your skin.

Does it diagnose skin conditions?

No. If something concerns you, talk to a doctor or pharmacist. Medical disclaimer

Does it recommend products?

No. It only remembers the ones you add.

Does it generate routines?

No. Your routine is yours.

Does it give my skin a score?

No. There is no skin score, rating or grade.

Can it tell me what caused a reaction?

No, and it is built not to pretend it can. It shows what changed in the days and weeks before a date. That is the sequence, not the cause. Why Skin Memory

Using it

How do I track skincare changes?

Add the products you use, then log each change when it happens: added, dropped, swapped, paused, resumed, or a change in how often you use something. Note what you see in your own words, and the timeline keeps it all in order. Skin timeline

How do I remember which skincare products I've tried?

Add each product to your shelf and mark it in use, paused or dropped. Every status change is dated, so you can look back at what you were using on any day. Product memory

Can I track a skin reaction?

You can record what you notice, such as redness, breakouts or mild irritation, with the date and a note. Skin Memory records it and does not diagnose it, and it cannot tell you what caused it. Observations

Can I show my record to a doctor or pharmacist?

Yes. Export your record as a file and a readable timeline from the Profile tab, and share it however you like. Skin history

Can I track products?

Yes. Add products to your shelf, choose a role and a time of day, and mark them in use, paused or dropped. Product memory

Can I track experiments?

You can log one change at a time and note what follows, with dates. A dedicated experiment mode is not part of the app yet. Experiments

What is a baseline?

A short note of where you are before you change something: what you use, how often, and how your skin feels. The app has no separate baseline screen. Your dated shelf and notes do the job. Baselines

What does the reconstruction view do?

For a date you choose, it lays out what was on your shelf and what changed in the thirty days before. When three or more changes overlap, it says so. It never names a cause. Skin history

Can I add photos?

Yes, of products. Photograph the front of a product and its ingredient list, and the app reads the text on your phone to fill in the name and ingredients. Nothing is uploaded for that, and you check and edit the result. You can also choose a profile picture. There is no skin-photo timeline, and no face scan.

Does it send reminders?

You can turn on a morning and an evening reminder for your routine, and choose the times and days. They are optional.

Can I export my record?

Yes. From the Profile tab you can export a file and a readable timeline through your phone's share sheet.

What should I do if something feels urgent?

Talk to a doctor or pharmacist, or seek urgent care. The app also has a short check with yes or no questions that points you to help. Medical disclaimer

Your information

Is my information private?

Your record starts on your device. If you create an account, your shelf and change log are also saved to it, so they can follow you to a new phone. Skin reactions you log stay on your device. One exception to know about: if you use “Search by name” when adding a product, what you type is sent to Open Beauty Facts, a public product database, to find a match. Privacy

Do I need an account?

No. You can skip the account and keep your record on your device. An account is only needed if you want your shelf and changes to follow you to another phone.

Does Skin Memory use my information to train AI?

No. Skin Memory does not train AI models on your record. Privacy
