What goes on it

Changes and notes, side by side.

The timeline holds two kinds of entry. Things you changed, and things you noticed. Seeing them together is the point.

  • Added a product

The day something new arrived on your shelf.

  • Dropped a product

The day you stopped for good.

  • Swapped one out

One thing replaced by another, recorded as a pair.

  • Paused use

Put on hold, not gone. It can come back.

  • Resumed use

Picked it up again, with the date.

  • Changed frequency

Nightly to twice a week, or the other way round.

  • Skin responses

What you noticed, chosen from six plain options and described in your own words.

  • Notes

A line about the day: travel, weather, a late night. Context, not conclusions.

Reading it back

Dates first. Everything else second.

Dates first.

Each entry carries the day it happened, so gaps and overlaps are easy to see. A long quiet stretch tells you something too.

Products and changes together.

What you started, paused or dropped sits beside what you noticed. You never have to hold the order in your head.

Overlaps are visible.

If three things changed in the same fortnight, the timeline shows it plainly. That is useful to know before you draw any conclusion.

Late entries welcome.

Remembered something a week later? Add it, and mark it as recorded late. The timeline stays honest about when you knew.

Where it started

How a shelf gets built.

A timeline shows

  • The order things happened in
  • How long there was between one thing and the next
  • What else changed around the same time
  • When you noticed, and when you wrote it down

A timeline does not show

  • Why something happened
  • Which change mattered most
  • Whether a product suits you
  • Anything about how serious a change is

A timeline shows sequence. It does not say why.
